Upcoming Seminars
The Electronic & Structural Properties of Graphene
Masterclass Abstract
In this series of three seminars we will cover the basic electronic and structural properties of graphene and its derivatives. Starting from basic carbon chemistry and moving into band structure and Dirac fermions. We will discuss how impurities and magnetic fields affect Dirac particles.
We will also look into graphene as a soft membrane and how distortions of the graphene lattice lead to new gauge and pseudo-magnetic fields. Finally, we will discuss the graphene bilayer and some of its properties.
